Kim's Adventures and Travels

Hooray!  Our traveling days have finally started.  We don’t have many rules, but one that we did make is no traveling more than five to six hours per day.  After almost six hours the first day, we arrived at a very nice Airbnb in Glen Lake, NY (just south of Lake George).  We hurriedly brought in our things and quickly found a place to eat.  It was beautiful at the restaurant, The Docksider.  We had a table outside right on the edge of Glen Lake.  The food was delicious, and I had one of the best strawberry shortcakes of my life there for dessert.  We returned to the house, unpacked, and sank into a super comfy bed in a nice cool room (a wonderful improvement over the first place).  

With nothing to do, I slept in (FINALLY!).  I spent the morning writing a not-so-great review for our first Airbnb.  I very rarely do that.  Usually I write privately to the owners and try to say things in a nice way so as not to give them a bad score.  But after my complaints had been mostly ignored, I felt like I needed to warn people about what to expect.  I had relied on the reviews, and I wished others had been more forthcoming about the realities of what to expect.

In the afternoon, we headed up a small mountain outside of Lake George (Mount Prospect).  It had some viewing spots along the way.  Some of them were better than others because of the lushness of the trees blocking the view.  After the winter we had this year, I am very happy to see green trees, so I’m not complaining!

We had planned to eat somewhere in the town of Lake George, but it was so crowded!  The strip of places was immense and reminded us of a seaside Atlantic Ocean touristy town.  If I was walking better, we might have attempted it, but I’m not even sure where we would have parked.  So instead, we headed home and stopped for ice cream along the way.  My cone was ginormous and tasted so good!  Not the most nutritious lunch.  We ordered in some groceries and pizza for dinner and had a nice, relaxing night at home for a change.  I even watched some television!
